Tanja Kontny

Tanja Kontny, born 1974 in Mülheim an der Ruhr, was working as a primary school teacher for 12 years.

Meanwhile she took regulary classes in contemporary dance, practiced yoga and Laban/Bartenieff Movement Studies. In 2010 she decided to focus her work on movement and dance. After numerous training courses in creative child dance and improvisation ( a.o. for people with Parkinsons disease) she started to be educated in dance pedagogy for contemporary dance at the Akademie Remscheid for 5 years by Dr. Ronit Land. Next to the experiences in different bodywork methods she took her focus on choreography, improvisation and interdisciplinary teaching of dance.

Since 2015 Tanja is teaching dance in primary schools within the educational program „Jekits“ and leads danceprojects including other arts. Influenced by the philosophy of the life/art process by Anna Halprin and the method of understanding movement by Carlo Melis, the dance classes for children are focused on the support of creative potentials and the conscious perception and intention of movement.

Tanja Kontny is teaching since 2019 at TANZMOTO STUDIO SPACE.
